Tour description
Winding your way through the hills, where terraced rice fields turn green or golden depending on the season, you start the trek from the village of Lao Chai, precisely from, Amica House, 7 kilometers from the town.
Lao Chai, which means “old house” or “old village”, is a commune made up of around a hundred Black Hmong families.

The Hmong are renowned for their expertise in planting corn and manioc, and in particular for their fabulous work in the rice terraces, which are recognized as a national heritage site.
This one-day trek with Amica House will reveal a region at the heart of a superb mountain range stretching to the border with China and Laos.
You’ll discover sites with numerous attractions for unforgettable experiences while hiking through their authentic villages “off the beaten track”.

Heading to village of Lao Chai San from Amica House, dominated by black H’mong people for centuries. They grow corn, rice and flax…. on the steep slopes.
You’ll see small wooden houses and domestic animals nearby, and get an in-depth insight into the habits and customs of the Black Hmong ethnic group.
The trek continues through the many small villages, where you can visit some of the Hmong houses and learn about their way of life and their brocatelle weaving workshops.
Note: For Hmong women, weaving is a trade closely linked to the passage to adulthood. Before getting married, all Hmong girls must know how to weave so that the bride-to-be can create her own dress in the months leading up to the ceremony.
Lunch in a local restaurant, then back by a easy track to the village of Lao Chai, with a crossing of terraced rice fields and small paths.
